Scripps Ranch 10k and Fun Run Information

The 10K starts at 7:00 am,
The 2-Mile Fun Run at 7:07 am

BIBS
If you did not get a bib in the mail, you will need to pick one up in the Registration area prior to the Race. Check-in tables are on Aviary and Red Cedar Drive. 10K runners will also receive a Timing Chip and instructions on how to secure it to your shoe. Please wear your bib on the front of your shirt or shorts at all times during the race. Failure to do so may result in your removal from the course. Keep your bib with you after you run, it provides access to many post-race amenities.

PARKING and SHUTTLE
The map on the reverse side of this page has general information. From 6:00 am to 6:50 am shuttle vans will transport runners from the Vons shopping center (on the corner of Aviary Drive and Scripps Ranch Blvd) to the Start area. Please respect the No Parking zones.

COURSE SECURITY
Lake Miramar security requires us to prohibit back packs and anything but water bottles or baby bottles taken on the course for the 10k run and 12 mile bike rides. WARNING: You will not be allowed to cross the damn unless you have a bib.

START
The Start Line for both the 10K and the Fun Run is on Red Cedar Drive, in front of Miramar Ranch School. Both finish in Hoyt Park. 10K runners will make one full lap around Miramar Lake, while the Fun Run turns around at the Miramar Lake parking lot. Aid stations are at the 2 and 4 mile marks. We’ll call out your times at the 1 mile, 5K, and 5 mile marks.

FINISH
There are separate finish lines for the 10K and Fun Run. Both end at Hoyt Park. Fun Runners finish on the street adjacent to the Park, while the 10K Runners finish on the grass. We will help you remove your Timing Chip. Please follow the directions provided by the finish line personnel.

AWARDS
Medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each 10K division, starting at 9:00 am in the Finish area. The "Ron McElliott Cup" will be presented to the first place male and female runners. All participants are eligible for prizes donated by local businesses. You must be present to collect your prize.

T-shirts
You can pick up your commemorative T-shirt after you run. You must present your run bib to receive a T-shirt – there are no exceptions! Additional Old Pro Logo items can be purchased for a modest fee. If you are unable to pick up your T-shirt after the run, please call 619-685-8453 or e-mail jed@mediadirect.com for more info. (save your run bib!)

REFRESHMENTS
Soft drinks, water, beer, and fruit will be provided in Hoyt Park. Our Permit requires that you wear your run bib and have a valid photo ID to get into the Beer Garden. There are no exceptions! Our License is important to us, without your bib and proper ID you will have to re-hydrate in a more conventional manner. Food from Yanni's Bistro, Pazzo's Pizza and Miami Grill available for a small charge.
